Best Books Writing Prompt

Writing_prompt_bookWriting Prompt: Books I wish I could read again for the first time

Did you ever read a book that was so good, you almost wish you hadn't finished it . . . so you could read it again for the first time? Only a few books are that special. Harry Potter, The Giver, or The Hunger Games (for ages 12 and up) come to my mind. Not only were they great while I read them, but they had crazy endings, so it would be good not to know before starting to read them!

What about you guys? What are the books YOU think are so good you wish you could read them again for the first time? Let us know in the Comments below!

Create a Caption: Fraizer Dog

CreateacaptionCreate a Caption: Fraizer Dog

Fraizer here might be one of the least happy-looking (though still one of the cutest) dogs ever. Why’s that? This is my best guess:

“I know you think this is a cute look for me, but can I PLEASE get a haircut?? My eyebrows are practically touching my nose. I keep running into walls. It’s not fun anymore, guys.”

Frazier

Create a Caption: Filly Puppy

CreateacaptionCreate a Caption: Filly Puppy

Is that a dog or a frog?! Check out the tongue on Filly! It's got to be the longest dog tongue ever! I bet touching her tongue to her nose is no problem (I'm kinda jealous – I’ve always wanted to be able to do that). If I had to come up with a caption for this photo, I think it'd be this:

Filly

“Is that the best you've got? You do know that my tongue is a weightlifting superstar, don’t you? Tennis ball? Way too easy. Gimme a basketball. This isn’t Little League. Gimme something I can work with.”

What do YOU think Filly is doing or saying in this photo? Share in the Comments!

Writing Prompt: You Know a Book Is Really Good When

Writing_prompt_bookWriting Prompt: You know a book is really good when . . .

We've all done some crazy things for the love of books.

  • Stayed up past midnight to finish the last chapter.
  • Snuck a flashlight under the covers.
  • Waited in line for hours for a new release.
  • Dropped mashed potatoes or smeared chocolate on the pages because we couldn't be bothered to stop reading to . . . eat.

Crazy, right? So for today's Writing Prompt, inquiring minds want you to finish this sentence:

Goodbook

Writing Prompt: You Have Not Lived Until. . .

Writing_prompt_rainbow_penWriting Prompt: You have not lived until. . .

Have you had any life-changing experiences? Any one thing that makes it easy to answer today's Writing Prompt? Maybe it's something fun, or silly, or just a little moment that makes you appreciate life, or something small and ordinary but so awesome-tastic you could not imagine your life without it (like chocolate).

Maybe . . .

  • Your crush “elbow touched” you in the lunch line.
  • You went to Disney World.
  • You read the most amazing book ever and it blew your mind.
  • You sat with your family eating ice cream watching the sun set over the beach on vacation. (“Ah, this is the life!”)

If you could tell the whole STACKS universe out there, how would you finish this sentence?
