Classic is the New Black: a magazine that discusses classic actors, movies, books, musicians, and TV shows from a kid’s point of view.
You may see Beatles as a bug but I see them as a band. At the age of 3, my father exposed me to a whole new world of classics. This is how I came to love the Beatles. I don’t know why I like the Beatles, but there was just a spark. Maybe it was their catchy lyrics or great melodies. It was something about the realness of the group. Continue reading

Interview with pop duo MKTO!
I have to admit I’m a little late jumping aboard the MKTO train. But now I am SUCH a fan. They’re awesome! I’ve been listening to “Classic” on repeat nonstop for the past three days. I think I might have a problem!
Anyway, MKTO is comprised of Malcolm Kelley and Tony Oller, who met on the set of the TV show Gigantic. After playing best friends on the show, they became real-life friends and realized that they wanted to make music together. Their debut album dropped earlier this year and it is GREAT!
MKTO has opened for Emblem3 and they are now embarking on their first headlining tour. Catch our super-exclusive interview here! Continue reading

Interview with Janelle Monae
It’s no secret that I am a very, very big Janelle Monae fan. Her music just makes me want to get up and boogie, and her style is awesome. (I wish I looked that cool in a suit.) This April, she’s making her big screen debut . . . in Rio 2! Did you see the first Rio movie? It was pretty funny, and I’m definitely glad there’s a sequel! We were super-fortunate to get this interview with the singer (and now voice actress). Check it out! Continue reading

Interview with Cody Simpson
It’s the dead of winter in New York and SO. COLD. Brrrr! Best cure for wintertime blues? Sunny music! That’s why I’ve been playing Cody Simpson’s “Pretty Brown Eyes” on repeat for the past week. As you know, we are major Cody Simpson fans. The Australian singer really brings on the beachy vibes with his latest album, Surfers Paradise, and even if it’s totally frozen outside, just one listen is sure to warm you right up. Read on to find out Cody’s thoughts about homeschooling, travelling the world, and, of course, surfing! Check it out. Continue reading
