Annie movieMeet the New Annie!

The new movie Annie comes out in theaters on December 19 and we have an interview with the 11-year-old girl who plays Annie. Her name is Quvenzhané Wallis (pronounced kwuh-ven-zhuh-nay), and she is the youngest person to ever have been nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress! Read on to hear about her role in the Annie movie.

Q: Did you like shooting the musical parts of the film?
Quvenzhané: Yes, I liked shooting the musical parts of the film because I like to sing and dance.

Q: Were you a fan of the original Annie before you accepted the role?
Quvenzhané: Yes, I was a big fan of Annie when I accepted the role. When we heard that Sony was remaking Annie, I watched to see what it was about and fell in love. I love to sing and dance along with Annie, now people are going get to sing and dance along with me.Annie movie

Q: How does the new movie differ from the original?
Quvenzhané: We’ve made some updates to make it feel like 2014. Like Annie is a foster kid, not an orphan. Mr. Stacks is the head of a cell phone company and cell phones did not exist in the original.

Q: Who is your favorite character in the movie, and why?
Quvenzhané: Ms. Hannigan. She is so funny!

Q: Did any of the older stars in the movie have tips or advice for you?
Quvenzhané: Jamie [Foxx who plays Mr. Stacks] taught me to just have fun. Don’t be so serious. We use laughter to get through some scenes. He would make it fun by telling me funny things or making funny gestures. Rose [Byrne who plays Grace] taught me to always be me and to be kind. Cameron [Diaz who plays Miss Hannigan] taught me to take care of myself. She would check on me to make sure I had what I needed.

Q: What is your favorite subject in school?
Quvenzhané: My favorite subject in school is science.

Q: Your favorite snack to eat on-set?
Quvenzhané: My favorite snack is grapes.

Q: Your favorite thing to do when you are done filming?
Quvenzhané: I like cheerleading, playing basketball and volleyball, reading, swimming, and riding my bike and scooter for fun.

Q: What is your all-time favorite book or author?
Quvenzhané: I like Roald Dahl books because of the mystery.

We also have new videos of the stars Quevenzhané Wallis, Jamie Foxx, Cameron Diaz, and even Sandy the dog (whose real name is Marty)! Also check out this exclusive post from Nicolette Pierini who plays Mia in the film. She answered YOUR questions!

Kira Kosarin from The Thundermans

Max (Jack Griffo), Phoebe (Kira Kosarin) in THE THUNDERMANS Kira Kosarin Plays Phoebe on The Thundermans

Q: Tell us about your show The Thundermans.
Kira: It’s a show on Nickelodeon about a family of superheroes who move to the suburbs to try to live a normal life, but that doesn’t always work because we all have superpowers. I play Phoebe who is a really strong superhero and my twin brother [played by Jack Griffo] wants to be a super-villain, so comedy ensues.

Q: What is an unusual talent that most people don’t know you have?
Kira: I can talk crazy, crazy fast and rap. No one thinks I can rap, but I can. My friends know. I don’t have many secrets. I’m kind of an open book.

Q: What was your most embarrassing moment?
Kira: I fell during a live taping of The Thundermans. I wiped out on the stage. That was pretty embarrassing.

Q: If you could have any pet in the world, what would it be?
Kira: In The Thundermans we have a talking bunny and I think that would be so cool! Our bunny talks because he was a super-villain who got turned into a bunny. On the show it’s actually a puppet.

Q: Are you a city person or a country person?
Kira: City. I’ve lived in both. I’ve lived in New Jersey, Florida, and then here [Los Angeles].

Q: What’s one thing that you think could help make the world a better place?
Kira: If everyone would do something really small it would make a difference in any arena. I think people should be taking care of the environment more, throwing out your trash, and recycling, and unplugging things. I think that if everyone could be nice to each other, it would be great!

Girl Meets WorldGirl Meets World Would You Rather

We recently interviewed Rowan Blanchard and Sabrina Carpenter from the Disney Channel show Girl Meets World, and judging from your Comments, we know you can’t get enough!

I used to love the show Boy Meets World  which featured Riley’s parents Corey and Topanga as kids, and now I love Girl Meets World just as much. It follows Corey and Topanga’s daughter, Riley who is in 7th grade, and her best friend Maya. Riley is funky and artistic, but also very academic. Maya is more street-smart, pretty, and popular. Like Boy Meets World, it has a good story with a bit of a lesson at the end. Are you guys hooked? Then get ready to meet . . .Girl Meets World Would You Rather!

Inspired by the show, would you rather . . . Continue reading

Girl Meets WorldSabrina Carpenter singer/songwriter and co-star on Girl Meets World

Judging by your comments, you guys love Girl Meets World. In honor of your fandom, we have a new interview with 15-year-old Sabrina Carpenter who plays Maya on the show, and also sings the song, “Can’t Blame a Girl for Trying.”

Tell me about Riley (Rowan’s character).
Sabrina: Riley is very different from my character. She’s very sweet, very caring, and she loves school. She’s a very optimistic, curious girl. I’m friends with a lot of people like that in real life. I think it’s important to have those mentally stimulating friends around you like that, and she’s a really great character. Continue reading
