There will be a full eclipse of the moon on Monday night and into the early, early hours of Tuesday morning. Some people believe that a lunar eclipse can cause bizarre things to happen. Have you ever noticed that the word “lunatic” has the same root as “lunar?” And that Luna Lovegood is kind of, well, loony? Makes you think, doesn’t it? Anyway, on Monday, April 14th, Disney XD will air special episodes of 3 shows. We’ve got the details about those episodes plus interviews with some of the actors about the strange things they HOPE will happen on Monday night!
Kickin’ It: “Invasion of the Ghost Pirates” (8:00 pm – 8:30 pm E.T./P.T.)
With an impending lunar eclipse, an old Seaford legend surfaces about a ghost pirate returning to seek his revenge on the wharf after a lunar eclipse 300 years ago led to his ship crashing into the shore. Jack makes it clear he doesn’t believe in ghosts, but his skepticism is put to the test.
Mighty Med: “Night of the Living Nightmare” (8:30 pm – 9:00 pm E.T./P.T.)
Kaz and Oliver are exhausted and stuck working the overnight shift during a lunar eclipse, when it is rumored that the freakiest patients come to the hospital. When Neocortex checks in with an illness that unintentionally traps people in their worst nightmares, Kaz and Oliver desperately try to stay awake and figure out how to save everyone from their nightmares.
Lab Rats: “Principal from Another Planet” (9:00 pm – 9:30 pm E.T./P.T.)
Leo is determined to record the bizarre events he believes take place during a lunar eclipse. Davenport is skeptical until it appears that an alien life form has taken control of Principal Perry’s body.
Q: What strange or wacky thing do you wish would happen as a result of this eclipse?
Jake Short: (a.k.a. Oliver in Mighty Med) I wish it would start raining my favorite candy – Starburst.
Paris MaryJo Berelc: (a.k.a. Skylar in Mighty Med) I hope the eclipse will give me the ability to breakdance over water.
Auggie Isaac: (a.k.a. Gus in Mighty Med) I wish that just when the eclipse was happening, everyone got a superpower. That would be awesome.
Dylan Riley Snyder: (a.k.a. Milton in Kickin’ It) I wish that I would gain awesome superpowers during an eclipse. I would either use them to help with my daily life, or just show off. It would be nice to be very strong, or to fly, or even to control time. I think an eclipse could be powerful enough!
Tyrel Jackson Williams: (a.k.a. Leo in Lab Rats) As the moon passes in front of the sun, I gain the ability to fly. My life is complete!
What do YOU hope will happen as a result of the lunar eclipse? Leave your wishes/predictions in the Comments!

In case you missed it, Jack Griffo (of The Thundermans) offered to answer your questions about being an actor, getting slimed, and having superpowers. Check out his answers below!
Dasha: Would you like to be a superhero? If so, what powers would you want to have?
Jack: Who wouldn’t?! I’d like to have either invisibility or super strength.
Christina: How does it feel to have so many fans? Do you get bothered of people asking for pictures?
Jack: Not at all. I really enjoy meeting people and talking about the show. It feels great to know that so many people out there are watching.
Mae: How old were you when you realized you wanted to be an actor?
Jack: I was 13.
Danielle: How long does it usually take for you to learn your lines?
Jack: We get 3 days. On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday we rehearse and learn our lines, and then we shoot Thursday and Friday.
Nicki: Most people who work for Nickelodeon eventually get slimed. Have you been slimed?
Jack: I have gotten slimed!
Megan: What do you like most about being an actor?
Jack: I love being able to tell stories and be a part of them.
A: What’s it like working with the other people on set?
Jack: It feels like a big family! We all have a fun time working together!
CobraDog379: If you weren’t an actor, what would you be?
Jack: I wanted to be a police officer for a while when I was a kid!
Pratham: What do you like to do for fun?
Jack: My favorite thing to do when I have free time is to just chill. I love sitting by the pool with my shades and playing guitar.

Hirona: What is your favorite sport?
Jack: My favorite sport is basketball.
E.T: What is your favorite color?
It was so nice of Jack to take the time answer questions on the STACKS! Was your question answered? Leave a Comment to let us know how much you LOVE Jack Griffo and The Thundermans!
They’re unlikely BFFs. Sam is street-wise, rough, stubborn, and sarcastic. Cat is super-nice, bubbly, clumsy, and as some would say . . . not the sharpest tool in the shed! But put them together and you have not only a dynamic duo, but a hit show, Nickelodeon’s Sam & Cat! In it, the girls are roommates, and run a baby-sitting business together.
Why do we love Sam and Cat? There are too many reasons. They’re hilarious, both slightly crazy, not afraid to say inappropriate things. We loved Jennette McCurdy in iCarly, so it’s really fun to see Sam live on. And Ariana Grande, who played Cat in Victorious, has become a major breakout recording star!
Would You Rather . . .
1. Be baby-sat by Sam OR Cat?
2. Eat a giant plate of burritos like Sam OR a giant plate of marshmallows like Cat?
3. Receive for a gift (inspired by the Yay Day! episode): footwash/mouthwash OR a ratty, old pillow?
4. Have Cat read you a bedtime story in her “Cat” voice OR her real voice?
5. Be in a texting competition like Sam OR a mixed martial arts competition like Goomer?
6. Baby-sit the Brit-Brat twins (Remember the British con artist twins?) OR baby-sit Oscar-the-very-accident-prone-boy? (The name says it all!)
7. Go to a taping of Sam & Cat OR see Ariana Grande live in concert?
8. See Sam and Cat in a special movie where they become possessed Halloween demons OR fall in love on Valentine’s Day?
9. Be platinum blond like Sam OR have super-red hair like Cat (which she dyed for her favorite dessert: the red velvet cupcake)?
Let us know what you would rather, Sam & Cat style, in the Comments below!

It’s no secret that I am a very, very big Janelle Monae fan. Her music just makes me want to get up and boogie, and her style is awesome. (I wish I looked that cool in a suit.) This April, she’s making her big screen debut . . . in Rio 2! Did you see the first Rio movie? It was pretty funny, and I’m definitely glad there’s a sequel! We were super-fortunate to get this interview with the singer (and now voice actress). Check it out! Continue reading
I’m a huge fan of all things superhero-related, which is why I’m totally hooked on The Thundermans! The show about a family that’s anything but normal trying to blend in is absolutely hilarious. Have you seen it? It’s awesome! Jack Griffo, who plays Max Thunderman on the show, is nominated for Favorite TV Actor in the Kids’ Choice Awards (and, let’s be totally honest–it’s the best awards show to be nominated for. It’s not a party unless someone gets slimed, amiright?). Even if you haven’t seen The Thundermans yet, you might recognize Jack from his roles in Jessie, Jinxed, or Kickin’ It. This guy has a pretty cool resumé!
Anyway, we are so, so, so lucky, because Jack is going to answer YOUR questions! Want to know what it’s like to be an actor, be nominated for a KCA, or play a superhero? Leave your questions in the Comments! Who knows? Maybe your question will get answered!
Are you a Good Luck Charlie fan? I am! Jason Dolley, who is 22 in real life, plays PJ Duncan on the show. We interviewed him before along with Bradley Steven Perry who plays Gabe, but I’m super-psyched that we got to catch up again with Jason. He talked to us about his favorite book, his character PJ, and the Muppets. And in case you missed it, read our interview with Bridgit Mendler (who plays his sister, Teddy).
Q: What is your favorite book of all time?
Jason: I have a special place in my heart for The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe [by C. S. Lewis].
Q: What do you want most in the world?
Jason: I don’t even think I know! Literally, that is the broadest and most interesting interview question I’ve ever been asked, and I know that because I don’t know how to answer that. But I love that you asked!
Q: What do you think is the most important issue for kids your age?
Jason: The biggest thing I see is substance abuse. I know a lot of people that have been affected by that. So that’s an issue.
Q: What’s up with your character for this season?
Jason: He is going to cooking school this year. He’s a really gifted cook, but I think he is struggling a little more than he expected, which is good, as he is learning well under pressure! His chef is super-hard on him, so that progress for him is good.
Q: You had an episode with the Muppets. How was working with the Muppets?
Jason: I was not there that week and I was so sad that I missed it. I worked with them once before on a Disney Channel special a while ago, so I was super bummed I couldn’t be there. They are awesome. I was super-glad that they were on our show!

We love, love, LOVE Dog with a Blog! (Did you see our Dog with a Blog Would You Rather Quiz last week?) And we’re super-excited to bring to you this interview with Blake Michael, who plays Tyler James (the older brother of Avery, a.k.a. G Hannelius) on the show. He also played Charlie Delgado in Lemonade Mouth. He talks about music, his favorite subject in school, and . . . gardening?!
Q: Lemonade Mouth has a great soundtrack. Do you really play drums?
Blake: I really play drums and actually have a little recording studio at home, and I have my own setup with my piano and drums. I create tracks all the time. So next year, you can look forward to seeing some new music of mine.
Q: Are they going to use it on Dog with a Blog?
Blake: Dog with a Blog has already incorporated my DJ stuff. I’ve been a DJ for a long time and they actually used it in an episode, so you never know.
Q: Is the environment important to you?
Blake: I’ve been buying organic food, and I actually bought some flowers and planted them in my house. I love gardening. I have this little tree that is growing out of a coconut in my room. I love forestry and nature, and gardening!
Q: What’s your favorite school subject?
Blake: My favorite school subject is literature. I’ve being analyzing advance scripts and dramatic roles since I was four years old, so that helped me develop my strong literature base. I’m really good at grammar. I was doing, like, college grammar in seventh grade, which is pretty crazy!

We’re big fans of Radio Disney’s The Next Big Thing winners 15-year-old Chloe and (almost) 14-year-old Halle Bailey! The sister duo have been impressing listeners around the world with their incredible singing abilities, performing on Austin & Ally, and even getting props from Beyoncé (!!!) for their cover of her music. In this interview, the two girls talk about what it was like winning N.B.T., their favorite books, and why it’s important to have great self-esteem. Check it out (and be sure to read our interview with another N.B.T. favorite Becky G)! Continue reading
So many books I love have been turned into movies: Harry Potter, Hunger Games, The Chronicles of Narnia, Percy Jackson . . . The list could go on and on! And while it’s super-exciting to see how different directors and actors interpret the stories and characters I’ve loved on the page, I can’t help but wonder how things would turn out if someone else played Peeta, or Hermione, or even Grover. That’s why our next Winter Reading Games event is . . . drumroll, please . . . Dream Cast! Which actors would you choose to play the characters in a movie adaptation of YOUR favorite book?
Right now I’m reading The Lost Hero from the Heroes of Olympus series. My dream cast?
- For Jason, I’d definitely pick Ross Lynch.
- For Piper, I’d cast Zendaya Coleman.
- And for Leo? Cameron Boyce, obviously!
What book are YOU reading right now? If it were turned into a movie (or if it already has been), whom would you cast to play the characters? Share in the Comments section below!
PS. Are you coming to the Readathon on Saturday? It’s going to be EPIC!
