Helping out on Whale Island by Thea Stilton
I had just gotten back from a relaxing camping trip with my brother, Geronimo, and was starting to prepare for my next adventure. Soon I would be off to Africa to report on an archaeological dig! I just love traveling the world and learning about its history and culture.
But in the meantime, I headed over to Whale Island for a quick visit to Mouseford Academy. I knew my dear friends and former students, the Thea Sisters, would be there. Colette, Nicky, Pamela, Paulina, and Violet are such smart and talented mice!
I caught the mouselets at the end of a week they had spent volunteering around Whale Island. While all five of them grew up elsewhere around the world, Whale Island had become their home, and they were eager to help keep it a wonderful place. Nicky had cleaned and beautified the beaches and parks on the island. Violet had restored instruments lost in Mouseford Academy’s basement, and Colette had put on a charity fashion show. Pam had organized a sports tournament for young mouselings at the local camp, and Paulina had updated the computers at the island’s schools and libraries.
What amazing rodents! I never stop being surprised at their capacity for helping others. They inspire me to find more ways to give back to other mice on my travels. How can you help others on your summer vacation?
