LetitshineCoco Jones Interview

9th grader Coco Jones stars in the Disney movie Let It Shine with Tyler James Williams and Trevor Jackson. In this interview she talks about her music, her life at school, and the other shows she would love to guest star on.

Q: Have you been on any other Disney shows?
Coco: I guest starred on Good Luck Charlie twice. I have an episode called “Team Mom” and I play this girl named Kelsey the Volleyball girl. I’m on Teddy’s team and we keep losing and we are trying to figure why.

Q: What other shows would you like to guest star on?
Coco: I would like to guest star on Shake It Up and Austin and Ally. Trevor Jackson [from Let It Shine] guest starred on Austin and Ally and he talked about how much fun it was. I would like to guest star there and actually any show. Right now I’m working on my album.

Q: Music is your first love?
Coco: Yes it is. I love Brandy. I really enjoy Taylor Swift, Alicia Keyes, CeCe Winans, and the list goes on and on. My album comes out next year and I have some singles coming out in December. It’s a mix between R&B and Pop. I’m trying to go international so I think everybody is going to like it.

Q: What is your favorite book?
Coco: Tiger Eyes by Judy Blume. I’ve read that a total of three times.

Q: What was your worst Math mistake that you ever made?
Coco: I didn’t learn my multiple facts, so anytime we had any test that had to do with multiplication, I would either never make the time limit or get bad grades because I didn’t know my multiplication. I had to go and study them until I memorized them so I could do better in Math. I’m glad that I did; multiplication does help.

Q: What do you miss about public school now that you have been home schooled for the past 2 years?
Coco: I miss my friends. I miss lunch time. I miss recess. There’s a lot. I miss my teachers and the one-on-one with everybody and being able to sit by rude people. I miss that too!

Q: Do you keep in touch with anyone from public school?
Coco: I tried, but they don’t see me like I used to be when I was a regular girl. They see me as a big star. I just want them to remember me for me. They kind of forgot who I was, and look at who I am.

That’s sad.
