SPONSORED POST Travel Adventures

39clues_130This post is sponsored by People to People Ambassador Program.

Imagine that you’re a member of the Cahill family and you’re suddenly on the hunt for the 39 Clues! Using this story starter, write a 200-word essay.

Story Starter:
You wake up in a hotel room. You look around you. The room is empty. On the mirror is a note written in thick black marker. It says, “The final clue is just around the corner. Be careful!!” You hear a knock on the door. Your heart is thumping in your chest. You look through the peephole. What happens next?

I’m an 8th grade language arts teacher and I required all of my students to do this writing essay, but made entering the contest optional and up to them. Many/most of my students had quite a bit of trouble keeping it at 200 words. What happens if they exceed the word count?? Is there a maximum? Also, most wanted to type the essay and I assumed that was fine. I did tell them to paste it onto the given paper to send in. Does that work?
