Imagine that you’re a member of the Cahill family and you’re suddenly on the hunt for the 39 Clues! Using this story starter, write a 200-word essay.

Story Starter:
You wake up in a hotel room. You look around you. The room is empty. On the mirror is a note written in thick black marker. It says, “The final clue is just around the corner. Be careful!!” You hear a knock on the door. Your heart is thumping in your chest. You look through the peephole. What happens next?

Wow, I think you will be a great OB. It seems like you have a real love for children, filmaies, and people in general. Sad to say that those qualities are rare traits in todays world. I believe not just anyone should be in just any job because you could be in a job that you hate and end up making everyone who comes in contact with you at work miserable. You have the joy and care to be great at your job and effect those you will be working around not only by your knowledge , but by your love for what you do.

I’m an 8th grade language arts teacher and I required all of my students to do this writing essay, but made entering the contest optional and up to them. Many/most of my students had quite a bit of trouble keeping it at 200 words. What happens if they exceed the word count?? Is there a maximum? Also, most wanted to type the essay and I assumed that was fine. I did tell them to paste it onto the given paper to send in. Does that work?

This sounds very fun. I have always loved to write, although the computer has suited as my best writer rather than paper and pencil. By the way, I have always loved drawing pictures for my stories as well, so I had wondered whether I could do so on this essay. Thank you!

Where’s the justice in this? I’m 11, I’m gifted, I love the 39 CLues and I’m an expert on the series. But it just so HAPPENS that I live in China. This is SO unfair. I’m the best English writer in our whole school of over 13 hundred!
