Book Club: New BONE Book, Quest for the Spark

Posted by at 4:13 am in Reads | Permalink

StacksBookClub2 Hi! Welcome to THE STACKS Book Club where every month we all read the same book together. Here's how it works. I'll write the blog post here announcing this month's book, why I chose it, and a question that I am interested in. You participate by writing what you think in the Comments below. Anyone can join!

This month's book is: BONE: Quest for the Spark, Book 1 by Jeff Smith and Tom Sniegoski.

Why I chose this book: I chose this book because Jeff Smith is awesome! Seriously. Check out this video of him demonstrating how to draw the Bone characters.

Question to Discuss: In the Prologue of Quest for the Spark, Gran'ma Ben gets a "gitchy feeling" that something bad is going to happen. Suddenly, she hears Queen Thorn screaming, but she's screaming in her sleep. Thank goodness there is nothing really wrong. But wait. . .why won't Queen Thorn wake up? What do you think is going on?

Get started right away with an excerpt from Chapter 1, and add your thoughts/questions/rants/random musings in the Comments. And for more BONE videos and extras, go to the BONE site.

Wow!!! I wish I could draw like that. My drawing usually aren’t so good. The BONE book sounds interesting, though.
