If you are a Percy Jackson fan, then you probably already know about Rick Riordan's new series, The Heroes of Olympus. Well, book #1 is available now, and Scholastic Kid Reporter, Gowtham Balaji, gives us this review.

Author Rick Riordan is back and is even better than ever! His new book The Lost Hero has finally been released. Although based on stories from Greek mythology similar to his Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, The Lost Hero is not exactly a sequel. It introduces new characters and different concepts.
Have you read The Lost Hero? What do you think? Is it as good as the Percy Jackson books? Let us know in the Comments.
I LOVE Rick Riordan's books!
I like Percy Jackson and the Olympians better than the Heroes of Olympus series, but not by much!
I wrote a book review on the Lost Hero for a kids book blog on National Geographic kids (moderator: you can't get any personal info there. It's kind of like the Stacks.) And I got in the top ten! I still might win the contest!

OH. MY. GODS!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love Percy Jackson. And I also love The Lost Hero!!!!!!!!! I've just re-read The Lost Hero today and I can tell anyone who has already read the Percy Jacksons and loved them that this is the book for them. It might even be better than the Percys. The story is fast paced with always some action and there's a bit more of romantism that before. Though that, in my opinion, makes it better! I CAN SIMPLY NOT wait for the next book in the series. The end is twisted so you feel like you MUST read the second one.
So if you haven't got it yet, GO GET IT NOW!

Omg! I LOVED THE HEROES OF OLYMPUS! ALTHOUGH I THINK I LIKE PERCY JACKSON MORE. BUT I STILL CAN'T WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT BOOK COMES OUT.THE BOK WAS SO AWESOME BUT IT DIDN'T TELL MUCH ABOUT THE OTHER CAMP WHERE PERCEY JACKSON LIVED.

OHMIGOSH THAT BOOK WAS AMAZING!I WAS LOVING IT FROM START TO FINISH!The thing about Rick Riordan is, is that he understands our teenageish minds. He writes his characters like normal teens. I loved how Jason keeps saying the gods names in Roman form. It gives it a sense of mystery:)Leo was hilarious! He always had something witty to say....gosh..this book was awesome!

I hate the ending! Why do they have to stop in a cliffhanger?! The second book comes out NEXT FALL! WHY DO THEY MAKE US WAIT SO LONG?!!!!!!!!!
Comment #22 | Posted by: mintchocolatechip100 on December 25, 2010 at 08:26 AM
I hate to be the only one who doesn't say it is amazing
but I kind of didn't like it
it was boring sometimes and I think Rick riordan is better at writing in first person!! but it was okay I guess. and it was cool how he was like roman and everything
