My Top FIVE Wolf Books
Let's talk wolves. And books. Specifically books about wolves. No, not of the were- variety. I don't want anything to do with the full moon and wolves that are people 29 days out of the month (at least not on this list). Today I'm only talking about dogs' wild cousins. The only thing making it on this list are my top FIVE books featuring wolves.
1. Julie of the Wolves by Jean Craighead George
(This is the book that made me love wolves.)
2. The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs! by A. Wolf as told to Jon Scieszka, illustrated by Lane Smith
(So funny!)
3. The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling
(You probably remember the bear, Baloo, from the movie, but Mowgli is actually raised by a wolf family.)
4. The Wolves in the Walls by Neil Gaiman, illustrated by Dave McKean
(Anything living in the walls of your house is super scary!)
5. Wolves of the Beyond #1: Lone Wolf by Kathryn Lasky
(Okay, so I haven't actually read this one yet, since it comes out on Dec. 29. But it takes place in the same world as Guardians of Ga'hoole, so it's for sure awesome.)
And that's my list! Have you read any of them? Agree? Disagree? Leave your thoughts and lists in the comments.

I keep on meaning to read Julie of the Wolves, but I will read it now for sure. :)
The Story of the Three Little Pigs was funny! Jon Schiezcha (I hope I spelled his last name right) is a good writer.
The Wolves in the Walls... I just didn't really get the point of that one.
The Jungle Book rocks! :)
I really want to read the Guardians of Ga'hoole and the Wolves of Beyond. I guess I should start with the first series first, huh? :P

Awesome! I adore Julie of the Wolves! Did you know that series has two sequels? Julie and Julie's Wolf Pack.
I never read the Story of the Three Little Pigs.
The Jungle Book was great! And not just the stories about Mowgli.
Wolves in the Walls...like Crystal said, I just didn't get the point.
And I read the preview of Wolves of the Beyond. Sounds great!
Here's MY top five list:
Julie of the Wolves
Julie
Julie's Wolf Pack (this one is told from the point of view of the wolves themselves)
Blue Wolf
The Good Dog (this one is actually about a dog who meets a wolf, but the wolf plays a big role. And the dog is a malamute, so yeah, he's a lot like a wolf.)

I loved Julie of the Wolves. I wanted to escape to the Alaskan tundra and learn the language of the wolves. Another fabulous series is Chronicles of Ancient Darkness. The author actually tried to live like her character to write authentically. Is White Fang a wolf story or a dog story? I can't remember.

Ok, when I saw this thing about wolves, I freaked out. I love wolves! I obsess over Julie of the Wolves. It's such a good book and I totally recommend it. I also would recommend Child of the Wolves. It's about a husky who runs off and is adopted by a female wolf whose wolf pups got taken. I'm reading the Good Dog by Avi right now by the second time- it's sort of about wolves- it's about a malamute named McKinley who tries to save Lupin, a wolf threatened by the people, and some dogs (like Redburn)and it's up to McKinley, Dutchess (a greyhound who is mistreated and runs away), well, you'd have to read it. Julie of the Wolves is my favorite. I read the whole series. READ IT. It's the best! I've read the first book like 5 times. Go wolves!!!
-And I'm hoping to read the new book. I'm trying to get a hold of A Dog's Life...Aaah!! When will I read it??? :O

I read the true story of the three little pigs and preferred it over the regular. It's funny and interesting to children 5-11. honestly I prefer vampire over werewolves, but okay.

Guardians of gahoole has wolves in it and I like them too (though i'm 'too old' for those books, whatever ^-^)
Chronicles of ancient darkness is a great series as well. And umm..that's all that comes to mind right now, but i really want to read Lone Wolf by kathryn lasky.
