POWER UP, GAMERS!
LEVEL 1: Enter contest.
LEVEL 2: Create own video game.
LEVEL 3: WIN contest!!
Think you're up for the challenge? Here at Scholastic we're linking you to one of the coolest things around since last month's blizzard. BKFK (By Kids For Kids) has a new contest where you can pitch your own idea for an online or video game. The kid with the winning idea gets their game created! The contest ends on March 31, 2009, so you still have plenty of time to come up with the world's next genius game. To warm you up, see if you can crack our History of Video Gaming Quiz:
How'd you do??? Okay, now that you're in the know, here's more of the 411. Every Monday and Friday here at Ink Splot 26, we'll have a NEW blog entry to plug you into the gaming world. We'll investigate how a game is made, look at some of the most popular games out there, go over tips for how to create a game, and more! So check back regularly as we count down to the ultimate Video Game payoff — a brand new video game one of YOU could create!
In the meantime, check out more background about games on THE STACKS! Or talk with other kids on our message board just for games!
Wow! This I should post on my game design course. Thanks for the info!
