Character Confidential: 3 Questions for Matilda

Matilda_130 In Matilda by Roald Dahl, Matilda is a smart girl stuck in a mean, dumb family. When she asks for books to read, her father says she doesn't need books because they have a TV to watch! (I love me some good TV, but it will never compare to my favorite books!) And school is even worse. The headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, just accuses Matilda of cheating when she gets all the difficult questions right. But since Matilda has all this extra brain power that's not being used in school, she develops telekinesis -- the ability to move objects with her mind!

With this power, she's able to do something about all the bullies in her life -- but you'll have to read the book to see what.

Because I've always wished I could move objects with my mind, here are my three questions for Matilda. (There are spoilers in the questions, so if you haven't read the book, you might want to skip this!)

1. You've read almost all of the books in the library — what book is your favorite?
2. What's your favorite subject in school?
3. After you've defeated Miss Trunchbull and are moved up to the proper grade level, you lose your powers. Do you miss them?

Now it's your turn — what would you ask Matilda?

i soooo love matilda!
Roald Dahl is awsome!!!!!!

I want to read Matilda; for some reason I haven't been able to. I'll add it to my reading list. I watched the movie, and it was good.

I wish I could move objects with my mind, too! :)

1. Are you sad, just a TINY bit, that you left your parents, even though they were horrible to you?

2. Have you ever traveled to any of the faraway places you read about?

3. Did you ever see your biological family again?

4. Have you ever needed your powers since you got Miss Trunchbull?

5. What would you do if you'd read all the books in the world (which is not entirely impossible for you)?
