A Riot of Reads!
Need a good laugh? Is school totally stressing you out? Want to just crawl up on the couch on a Friday and forget about all your troubles for just one night? Well then, I have just the reading list for you! As a total advocate for comedy, humor, and anything that will make me laugh, I give you a reading list so funny, so absurd, and so crazy that you should make sure you're not drinking anything while reading for fear of it coming out of your nose.
Check out these picks and get ready to laugh!
Captain Underpants series by Dav Pilkey: Do I even need to go into detail? With a main character named Captain Underpants, how could it not be funny?
Hoot by Carl Hiaasen: Bullies, owls, and other fun adventures . . . this book is definitely quite a hoot! Get it? Hoot (aka haha)? Even if that joke was completely lame, it shouldn't stop you from checking this book out.
Pippi Longstocking series by Astrid Lindgren: This classic series is a definite must if you want to be entertained! Who wouldn't want to read about an exceptional, eccentric, quirky, and extraordinarily strong girl who can lift her horse one-handed without difficulty? Sounds like a good time to me!
The Butt series by Andy Griffiths: Is it even necessary to explain why these books are funny? I think the name says it all!
Snarf Attack, Underfoodle, and the Secret of Life: The Riot Brothers Tell All by Mary Amato: Step aside, Captain Underpants. Watch out, Andy Griffiths. The Riot Brothers are in town! There’s no doubt you'll want to follow along with the Riot Brother's antics and games — appropriately and humorously entitled the Snarf Attack, Underfoodle, the Naked Mole-Rat Game, and the Frying Pan Game.
What about you? What are your favorite funny books?
