Character Confidential: 3 Questions for The Preacher from Because of Winn-Dixie

I was reminded of how much I love Because of Winn-Dixie by Kate DiCamillo. As I flipped through the book to find the best description of Littmus Lozenges, I had to resist the urge to just forget everything else and sit down to re-read the whole thing.

But I couldn't resist coming up with three questions for one of the characters in the book — not Opal, but the preacher. If you've read Because of Winn-Dixie, then you know that the preacher isn't exactly the most talkative person ever. I'd love to throw these questions at him and see if I could get him to open up a little:

1. Did you ever intend to have a heart-to-heart with Opal about her mother, like maybe once she reached a certain age?

2. Now that you've had a breakthrough, will you make an effort to be more forthcoming with Opal?

3. What are ten things that we should know about you? Now it's your turn: what would YOU ask the preacher if you got the chance?
