Heeeeere's Johnny!

Disney has officially announced that our beloved Captain Jack Sparrow, Johnny Depp, will be playing the MAD HATTER in the new film version of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland.

Tim Burton, the genius (IMHO) behind The Nightmare Before Christmas will be producing it in stop-motion animation (the kind of animation that kind of looks like moving clay, used in Nightmare, Corpse Bride, and James and the Giant Peach).

(Tim Burton + Johnny Depp) x Stop Motion = Awesomeness!

Also announced is that we'll be treated to some more Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Carribbean 4. I wonder what the title will be . . .

Okay, I obviously should not be allowed to name movies.

To me, the Pirates news is bittersweet — sweet because I love me some Pirates of the Caribbean swashbuckling, but bitter because [spoiler alert — highlight to read:] my favorite character, tortured and tentacled Davy Jones, is dead . . . or is he?!

Either way, can't wait for the new version of Alice in Wonderland!
