Fill-in-the-Blank Famous Quotations: Chasing Vermeer Edition

It’s been a while since I tried my hand at the Hugo Cabret edition of “Fill-in-the-Blank Famous Quotations.” Time for another installment — this time based on the art mystery, Chasing Vermeer by Blue Balliett!

Here’s my attempt (as you can see, I was inspired by the crime aspect of the original):

“At 12:01 on the morning of January 1, John Doe was hunting for his right shoe. Police Captain Martin was looking under the bushes for a footprint. Both reached their front doors at the same moment.”

YOUR TURN!
“At _____ on the morning of _____, _____ was hunting for _____. _____ was looking under the _____ for _____. Both reached their _____ at the same moment.”

— Karen, STACKS Staffer

Btw, here’s the real thing:
“At 7:30 on the morning of November 5, Calder was hunting for his sneakers. Petra was looking under the living room sofa for the hairbrush. Both reached their kitchens at the same moment.”
— from Chapter 11 of Chasing Vermeer by Blue Balliett

“At 4:28 on the morning of August 18, Percy was hunting for Riptide. Perseus was looking under his messy step-dad ( “Smelly” Gabe Ugliano) for his pen. Both reached their cake at the same moment.”

“At jayjay in the morning of bugs and throats, videogame was hunting for a chimpanzee. videogame was looking under the snowman for his dumb dairy. Both reached their “videogame leave hide” at the same moment.”

At midnight on the morning of Christmas Eve eve, Jill was hunting for the mysterious book of the ancients. Jack was looking under the sink for something to open the drain. Both reached their last nerve at the same moment.
