Fill-in-the-Blank Famous Quotations: Chasing Vermeer Edition
It's been a while since I tried my hand at the Hugo Cabret edition of "Fill-in-the-Blank Famous Quotations." Time for another installment — this time based on the art mystery, Chasing Vermeer by Blue Balliett!
Here's my attempt (as you can see, I was inspired by the crime aspect of the original):
"At 12:01 on the morning of January 1, John Doe was hunting for his right shoe. Police Captain Martin was looking under the bushes for a footprint. Both reached their front doors at the same moment."
"At _____ on the morning of _____, _____ was hunting for _____. _____ was looking under the _____ for _____. Both reached their _____ at the same moment."
— Karen, STACKS Staffer
Btw, here's the real thing:
"At 7:30 on the morning of November 5, Calder was hunting for his sneakers. Petra was looking under the living room sofa for the hairbrush. Both reached their kitchens at the same moment."
— from Chapter 11 of Chasing Vermeer by Blue Balliett
